- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience required 2. Cases: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown cases including post-cardiac surgery, CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, cardiac catheterizations 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license (pending OK for submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 1845-0715, 36 hours only, 13-26 week contracts 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed at submission 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate; travel experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months cardiac experience 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules factored into first 24 hours NBO; Acute Care approximately 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser 13. Patient ratios vary by acuity (1:4 surgical stepdown, 1:5-6 lower acuity). Weekend requirement 4 per 4 weeks. 24-hour orientation. Storm/Hurricane Team assignment required. Interview required for every candidate.
