- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 1+ years required for submission within specialty; travel experience preferred 2. Cases: Stroke experience, post-procedural experience, drip experience (Insulin/Glucomander, Neo up to 100, Precedex, A-lines, TR bands) 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CNRN or SCRN required; must be AHA or American Red Cross; travelers may obtain certifications before starting 4. License: Valid NY State RN License required; must have at least applied if still pending; submit with recent Nursys 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: Patient ratio is 4:1 depending on acuity; may be 5:1 if acuity is lower; candidates may float within skillset 8. RTO: 7 days or less preferred; only 1 holiday approved 9. Returning Staff: Permanent staff cannot return as a traveler within one year; after 3rd assignment, extensions allowed but at local rate 10. Travel/Local: 75-mile local radius; locals accepted at lower rate 11. Background: SSN/DOB required; Canadian travelers and international travelers cannot be cleared without SSN or valid work authorization; international travelers cannot cross sooner than 10 days prior to start date 12.
