- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Patient ratio 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg; adult acute care patients requiring specialized care; focus on pulmonary patients 3. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required (valid NIHSS must be included in submittal); ACLS also listed 4. License: NY license required in hand - no exceptions 5. Education: Must alert account manager if traveler has foreign education requiring verification 6. EMR: EPIC experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 nights 1900-0700; floating required to ICU or MS; every other weekend 8. RTO: Cannot submit anyone with more than 10 days RTO; only one pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: 1 year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: Must be 75+ mile radius; candidates within 75 miles not accepted; first time travelers accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours; excess over 5 hours non-billable; completed pre-start 13. Travel Experience: Yes, travel experience required 14. Scrubs: Any combo of navy and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, arterial lines, central lines, BiPAP, chest tubes, ventilators, wound vac Critical: 24 orientation hours; float to ICU or medical-surgical units required.
