- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be in a large, urban hospital; Level 1 trauma facility experience required within the last year; LTAC/Rehab/Nursing home does not count as acute inpatient facility experience; candidate should have less than 1 year gap between permanent and travel positions 2. Cases: Neurology and Neurosurgery; strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions; mixed acuity (Med Surg/Telemetry and Stepdown); drips required on all floors including Nitro, Heparin, and Insulin (non-DKA); screen and call out if no drip experience 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (asterisked), NIHSS required; must confirm AHA or equivalent compliance per standard policy 4. License: Pending license accepted, but if not in hand at time of submission, traveler will be booked six weeks out; 100% Nicotine Free Facility noted 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; must have Epic experience within the last 2 years; rated 3 or 4 on checklist; HARDSTOP if not met 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48-hour weekly option; 13 or 26-week contract option; travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially floating to Bellevue campus; floated units include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, SOTU; notified 1 hour prior to shift start by call or text; MS/Tele ratios 1:5 days and 1:6 nights (nights can be 1:7 rarely); Stepdown ratios 1:3-4 days and nights; 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period; Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday night and Saturday night; Holiday requirement: travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving W/Th/F, Christmas 24/25/26, New Years 31/1/2); orientation: 24 hours 8. RTO: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted; RTO must be submitted with application; additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10.
