- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year minimum acute experience required; unit accepts first-time travelers 2. Cases: Mixed unit — PCU, Med Surg/Tele, and Med Surg; skills required include MS/Tele, Telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS required; must be AHA; copies required at submission 4. License: MI RN License required and must be IN HAND; pending licenses accepted per system notes 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required; charting system experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Every other weekend required; floating required within service line and to Monroe as needed; no block scheduling; schedules may be changed with two-weeks notice; 1:5 patient ratio days, nights, and weekends 8. RTO: No holidays or holiday eves/days after holidays approved; requests exceeding 7 days require manager approval 9. Returning Staff: Must be gone 1 year (permanent staff) before returning; travel pairs accepted — if unrelated, same unit allowed; if related, same facility but not same unit 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile radius; locals not accepted 11. Background: Not specified; Ohio facilities only — fingerprinting required for specific units; Ohio FBI/BCI results take 4-6 weeks and travelers cannot start with results pending 12. Modules: First 4 hours non-billable; any time exceeding 4 hours billable up to 8 additional hours (12 hours total); completed during orientation and annually; vary by specialty; facility reported 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy 15.
