- Unit Notes:Department: IMC RN - 6N *Certifications Required: BLS, NIHSS* **Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. Client rates reduced by $8.00/hour.** - # Beds: 28 - Nurse: Patient Ratios: Average 1:-5 Day/Pm, 1:5-7 NOCs (average 6, must be ok with 7 patients). - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Up to 75% of patients can be cardiac: cardiology: pre/post caths, pre CABG, Chest pain, NSTEMIs, no Post CABG but do get anything procedural cardiac. General: CHF,COPD, pneum, diabetes, dialysis, altered mental status, nephrology, hematology, wounds, etc. overflow strokes. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Good communication, good teamwork, good work ethic. Must have majority of cardiac experience (heavy cardiac unit). Must have 1 year of Tele, IMC/ Stepdown RN. Must have drip experience. Prefer previous travel. - Are RN's required to titrate drips: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Insulin, heparin, nitro, diltiazem, lasix. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele techs are stationed elsewhere but provide 24/7 monitoring of our patients. We do have a monitor on our unit for nurses to check themselves and make sure a good rhythm is being captured. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: The charge RN does have patients but generally not a full assignment so they can be a resource to the RNs/NAs and do charge duties also. - Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: Yes, average 1:9 day/pm, 1:14 Nods if full. - RT/Equipment: Continuous Cpap & Bipap, High flow, vapotherm, nebs, chest PT, no vents. - Shifts & Scheduling: No self scheduling, we do try to accommodate block scheduling but is not always guaranteed. We have 12 hr shifts varied, starting at 0700- 1900, 1100-2300, 1900- 0700. - Weekend Requirements: EOW (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). - Holiday Requirements: EOH. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: We do not put our agency staff on call. We do schedule in 4 hr blocks, so staff may be LCd or reallocated if staffing needs are lower. - Floating Requirements?: We do have staff float to generally other Med/Surg floors. We rotate who goes to be as fair as possible. Staff may need to float outside the med/surg cluster, especially if there is a patient observer 1:1 need. (if have other specialty experience can float there). - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Any color, clean & professional. - Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 1 12 hr day off unit and 1 12 hr shift on unit orientation. *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield.
