- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1.5 years required; must have SD/PCU experience (ICU experience does not count toward SD/PCU experience at this facility); CABG and valve post-op experience required; 1:5 ratio experience must be explicitly shown in the Work History section of the application for SD or PCU 2. Cases: CABG, valve replacement/repair, mitral clip, TAVR, thoracotomy, VATS, pneumothorax, hemothorax, chest tube, vascular surgeries, advanced cardiac patients with continuous telemetry; pre and post-op open heart management required 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must be able to read and interpret EKG strips; must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting; IV start and cardiac drip titration required; N95 fitting required prior to working on HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed 4. License: Current Nursys report must be included in submittal email 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Every other weekend and holiday coverage required; targeted patient ratios 1:4-6; 48-hour contracts billed at OT for all 48 hours; facility reserves the right to cancel 3 shifts per 13-week contract or 2 shifts for an 8-week contract due to low census; traveler floats first at facility discretion within specialty clusters, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units; if assigned to MVH, may float to south campus (less than 10 miles) and north campus (less than 15 miles) 8.
