- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; must be within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass; oncology experience preferred but not required 2. Cases: Acute leukemia population; primarily newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients; high volume of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes; heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required; ONS Chemo Cert preferred; all must be in hand at time of submission; NO chemo certification required per unit notes 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting required as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour days/nights rotating or 12-hour nights; first week orientation Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor (72 total orientation hours); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; float required to other MedSurg Oncology units 8. RTO: RTO required with submission and must be built into contract; only one pre-approved time off; vacation time immediately after booking may cause delays due to fingerprinting 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after being away from facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible at any Ohio State University hospital location; first-time travelers screened to client for review 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk push or cancel 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Travel experience required 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately after signing. Strict compliance deadline is Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions. Submit to one location only. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
