- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU required 2. Cases: Kidney transplants, liver transplants, pancreas transplants, r/o rejection, infections, AKI, uncontrolled diabetes, hepatology, GI bleed 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required 4. License: Valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Night shifts; weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays; patient ratio 1:3 days, nights, and weekends; float required to different units within the OSU organization as needed; weekend coverage required 8. RTO: RTO required at time of submission and must be built into contract 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently 11. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical Exemptions Only 16. Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel. Screen candidates for vacation time immediately after booking due to potential fingerprinting delays. Submit to one location only. Two professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted. Note: This is a combined ICU/PCU unit, but travelers will only work PCU level and ICU experience is not required.
