Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of med surg experience required; stepdown/PCU experience required as nurses will float to PCU unit as needed 2. Cases: General surgical and ortho unit with medical overflow; patient diagnoses include TKA, THA, TSA, TPLIF, lumbar lami/fusion, ORIF, SBO, lower GI bleed, colectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest pain, pneumonia, DVT, PE 3. Certifications: BCLS and ACLS required; BLS listed in system 4. License: Must already be SC licensed; facility will not accept any license hits 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, holidays as needed; 6 weekends per contract (patterned); self-scheduling; orientation is 24 hours 8. RTO: Not specified 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Cannot live within 50 miles of facility; 50-mile radius enforced 11. Background: Facility will not accept any background hits or DUIs 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Royal blue/white; not provided by hospital 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed. COVID-19 vaccine also required with exemptions/declinations allowed 16. Special Equipment: Bucks Traction, CPM, Epidural, PCA, ETCO2, SCD, CPAP, suction, specialty beds Critical: This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to MedSurg and MS/Tele units. Traveler must be comfortable doing both. Stepdown ratio is 1:4-5; MedSurg ratio is 1:5-6. IV start skills required. PCU/stepdown experience highly preferred. Must confirm traveler is comfortable with frequent floating.
