- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of Med/Surg experience required; PCU/Stepdown experience also required as nurses will float to PCU unit 2. Cases: General surgical and orthopedic with medical overflow; PCU cases include CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, post cath, cardiac arrhythmias, CIWA, chest pain, NSTEMI, AKI, PE, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis 3. Certifications: BCLS/BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS listed; must be AHA or equivalent (not explicitly stated); IV start required skill 4. License: Must already be SC licensed; facility will not accept any license hits 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Meditech required; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Weekdays, every other weekend, float, holidays as needed; 6 weekends per contract (patterned); float required across MS/ARU and Stepdown/PCU units; orientation is 24 hours; scheduling is self-scheduling 8.
