- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required; IV start skills and L&D experience required 2. Cases: Postpartum (vaginal delivery, C-section), postpartum readmits (wound infection, preeclampsia), healthy newborns, NAS infants 3. Certifications: BLS and NRP required; IV certification required 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon signing contract 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend coverage required; patient ratios 3-4 dyads (6-8 pts) days, nights, and weekends; float required to MSC (antepartum-team nursing) and different units within OSU organization; telemetry interpretation required — RN must pass EKG exam prior to start; 36 orientation hours 8. RTO: RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; pre-approved time off limited to two; candidates with vacation immediately after booking may face delays due to fingerprinting 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current OSU employees ineligible as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location; former manager name should be noted 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon signing; candidates outside Ohio must drive to a fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — medical exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Telemetry interpretation required; RN must pass EKG exam prior to start Critical: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions. Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon signing. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
