- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum PEDS Cardiac Surgery experience required; candidates with 1-2 years may be reviewed. Ideal candidate has 2-5 years in cardiac ICU. 2. Cases: Congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplant, higher acuity CICU, Single Ventricle Palliation; Birth to 21 years. Manager highly prefers CVPICU experience but open to reviewing PICU, PACU, and CVICU candidates. PICU candidates must have mixed cardiac experience; PACU candidates must have critical care and cardiac background. Candidates must have 3s and 4s in skills checklist in Cardiovascular settings to be designated a SCREEN. 3. Certifications: BLS and PALS required; Children's hospital experience noted. AHA requirement not specified. 4. License: WA Temp or Perm License, or Compact license required by start date; pending license accepted. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic preferred. 7. Shifts/Call: Day/Night rotating shifts on a typically every 6-week cadence dependent on unit need; on-call required (sign up for extra shifts); float required based on census to lower level of care; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; block schedule not available; only pre-approved contract shifts are guaranteed off. 8. RTO: No RTO during first two weeks of orientation; only pre-approved shifts guaranteed off; night shift travelers can be scheduled for the night before RTO starts. 9.
