- MUST HAVE Oncology Surgery experience with general surgery experience; float is required. Must have at min level 2 trauma experience, level 1 is strongly preferred. Looking for overall well-rounded RN as they will be working outside of specialty hired for. Bi-Weekly Orientation Operating Room RN - PRIMARILY Day shift with possible night shift rotation There is a possibility for off-shifting (1-3 shifts in a week) once every 4-week scheduling period, but there are a lot of times there is no off-shifting Weeknight call requirements: 1-2 nights/week on average Weekend call requirements: Approx. every 4-5 weeks (24 hours Saturday OR Sunday, 1-2 days/month) ***Block schedule CANNOT be accommodated*** 2 years of OR RN experience required BLS required First time travelers NOT accepted Experience with a majority following cases is required: Whipple, Esophagectomy, Ex Lap, Bowel resection, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy, Adrenalectomy-Laparoscopic, Neck dissection, Breast reduction, Stage one and two breast reconstruction, Free Flaps, Mastectomy, Lumpectomy, Sentinel lymph node biopsy, Melanoma excisions DaVinci experience highly preferred Oncology, Ortho, Neuro experience HIGHLY preferred 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY OR/SPT: Scrubs are provided by the facility Nebraska Medical Center - Nebraska Medical Center (NMC) is the No. 1 rated hospital in the Omaha metro area and the state of Nebraska. Call-Back & Extended Shifts: Please be advised that the call-back rate is only paid if a traveler is on-call offsite and is called-back to the facility after their shift has ended. If their shift is extended due to census or a case running over, they will be paid at their regular rate until they go into overtime. They should not be clocking out and back in for any shifts that run over or are extended. Please be aware that travelers are not paid the same as Core staff members at Nebraska Medicine as Core staff are incentivized differently. The Core Staff policy does not apply to travelers and travelers will only be paid call-back when placed on-call after their shift has ended; they have left the facility, and are called-back.
