- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1.5 years required; must have Stepdown (SD) or PCU experience — ICU experience does NOT count toward SD/PCU experience at this facility; application MUST show 1:5 ratio experience in Work History for SD or PCU 2. Cases: Oncology experience required; Sickle cell experience and chemo certification preferred but not required; unit specializes in oncology, hematology, blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCAs, and wounds 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) listed; must be able to read and interpret EKG/dysrhythmia strips; ONS Certification allows RNs to administer chemotherapy; EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract 4. License: Any state RN license accepted; compact license accepted; temp license can be applied for on offer (takes 5-10 days); facility does NOT accept any past license action 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: No block schedule; 36 or 48-hour week options; 18 or 20-week contract options available; traveler is first to float at Premier's discretion across specialty clusters including high-risk respiratory/COVID units; must be available to work every other weekend and holiday; Premier Health reserves the right to cancel 3 shifts for low census per 13-week contract or 2 shifts for an 8-week contract; Premier Health reserves the right to cancel agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine; travelers are not eligible for Premier Health employee incentives; if assigned to MVH, floating may include main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville, less than 10 miles), and north campus (Englewood, less than 15 miles) 8. RTO: RTO must be submitted with initial submittal; NO RTO will be added after offer; RTO approval is at manager's discretion; no more than 14 days of RTO allowed even if willing to add to end of contract; all schedule requests, start date, and RTO must be on the front page of the application at time of submittal — not just in the submission email 9. Modules: 18-24 average hours; up to 24 hours are billable; completed during orientation and up to 8 hours annually; module hours are self-reported to manager 13. Special Equipment: Not specified Critical: Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract or a solid ETA provided to ensure results are in by Wednesday prior to a Monday start. EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must also be completed within 72 hours of signing. References are not required. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4 but can be up to 1:5-6. Trauma Level I experience preferred.
