- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years NICU Level 4 required; will consider Level 3 RN with strong surgical experience from a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns; must mention in submittal 2. Cases: High acuity surgical NICU; HIE/Cooling, CDH, NEC, respiratory distress/failure; gastroschisis, omphaloceles, abdominal surgeries, myelomeningoceles, fresh trachs, g-tubes; pre and post-op care; cardiac experience required 3. Certifications: BLS required; Advanced NRP required; PALS preferred; must be AHA or equivalent 4. License: CA License required; pending license accepted if ETA from licensing is available before start date 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 variable days/nights or straight nights; must work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's including Eves); must be flexible for weekends; no specific weekend requirement; no on-call required; floating required within scope to PICU, CVICU, and satellite campuses (Rancho Springs, Palomar, Scripps Encinitas, Scripps La Jolla, Scripps Mercy); mileage reimbursed from home base to satellite; must have own transportation 8.
