- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 3 years minimum of solid NICU experience required; Level III, Level III or higher, or Level IV; focused experience on 1:1 and 1:2 care and high-risk delivery/admits. No first-time travelers accepted. 2. Cases: High-risk deliveries, neonates less than 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and greater than 34 weeks; 1:1 and 1:2 care; HFOV, bubble CPAP, NIMV; central line management including UAC, UVC, PICC; full list of required skills includes arterial line management, IV vasopressors, neonatal abstinence syndrome, seizure disorders, respiratory distress syndrome, therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy management, oscillators, inhaled nitric oxide, and more. 3. Certifications: BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP required. 4. License: CA RN License in hand required; Nursys pulled within 2 weeks must be attached at submission; NO Nursys hits. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic required; approximately 8 hours of Epic training included in modules. 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12H Nights, 19:00-07:30; float required to L&D and possibly between OCM and SMC; weekends scheduled as needed to meet unit needs. Role is both bedside and charge with a charge bump for charge shifts worked. 8. RTO: Must be presented at time of submission; no RTO added after submission is sent. 9. Returning Staff: Previous permanent staff are not allowed. 10. Travel/Local: 50-mile radius applies; locals accepted at lower bill rate — confirm with Account Manager for details. 11. Background: No Nursys hits allowed. 12. Modules: Non-billable; RN hours 8-14 hours (Epic training approximately 8 hours); completed pre-start and during orientation; hours vary by specialty; recorded via certificates/transcripts. 13. Travel Experience: Required; no first-time travelers accepted. 14. Scrubs: Not specified. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — medical/religious exemptions only. 16. Special Equipment: Not specified. Critical: Charge experience required. Previous charge experience is a mandatory requirement. 1 reference required within the last 2 years. CA License must be in hand at time of submission. City of Long Beach requires a minimum taxable hourly wage of $25 per hour (base hourly wage, not inclusive of stipends, housing, or other travel benefits).
