Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required in the last 5 years; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: Orthopedic trauma, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, subdural hematoma, neurological trauma; preferred: CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, pre/post hemodialysis 3. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: Active RN license required 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic documentation experience required; Pyxis and SBAR also used 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours accepted; float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatient holding; every other weekend required; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster; consolidation to centralized office mid-contract may occur 8. RTO: 7 days MAX for Aya Auto Offer; RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancel and DNR 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted; rate difference applies 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 12-hour unit orientation; 16-hour organizational education (28 hours total) 13. Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: External fixators, chest tubes, heparin drips, central line management Critical: Must be comfortable with 1:5-6 patient ratios. Must be able to manage heparin drips, chest tubes, central lines, tracheostomy, wound care, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tubes, PICC lines, IV starts, and phlebotomy. Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
