Requirements
- Required certification: Med/Surg
- 1+ years of experience
- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: General medicine with focus on neuro; CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), dysrhythmias management 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred; must pass EKG Testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license (pending OK for submittal) 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours accepted; 1:6 ratios; 5-6 weekend shifts required; float requirement (travelers float first) 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days auto approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week; cannot request additional RTO after signing 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying; disclosure required with hospital name/dates employed 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at lower rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Pre-start modules factored into first 24 hours NBO; Acute Care approximately 8-10 hours; must be completed pre-start using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge 13. Travel Experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers 14. Scrubs: Not provided by hospital; Navy Blue required 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions Only) 16. Special Equipment: Pyxis, telemetry; teamwork approach required Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing. Contract staff assigned to Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. 24-hour orientation required.
