- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required 2. Cases: Med/Surg experience required; preferred cases include Cardiac Monitoring, Emergency response, Telemetry, Post Angiogram, Post MI, IV insulin protocols, Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA, CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Ortho trauma, Surgical drain experience, Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, various respiratory management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac 3. Certifications: BLS and NIH required; must be AHA and Red Cross only, RQI cards not accepted; copies required at submission 4. License: Must have active IL license in hand at submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Nights (1845-0715), no on-call required, will work every other weekend, will float as needed to other MedSurg and like units 8. RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days; can auto-approve 5 or less days of non-holiday RTO, anything more requires facility approval; candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Previous Perm/PRN candidates must be separated for 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted with no radius restriction for this specialty 11. Background: Background check hits/review must be noted upon submission for approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Non-billable up to 16 hours, completed pre-start, renewed annually; first day is virtual at-home day with strict deadlines (4PM CST on Day 1) 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: Any solid color 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: No special equipment, basic Hoyer and bladder scanner used on unit Critical: Patient ratios 1:5 for all shifts. Must complete compliance (lab appointment, Docusign, badge photo) within 1 week of signing contract. Previous charge experience preferred. Level I Trauma experience preferred.
