- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 5 years required for submission; Level I and Level II Trauma experience required; travel experience required 2. Cases: Geriatric trauma (55+), abuse/violence victims, MVA/MVC, falls, appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, TBI; patients come from ED, OR, or ICU 3. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required (ACLS required for Barnes-Jewish Hospital location; must be obtained by compliance hard document deadline); CPI, NIHSS, BSN, and TNCC noted with asterisk; certifications not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted; must pass Relias EKG exam; fit testing required (facial hair must allow proper fit or clinician must shave — no exceptions) 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact — must match permanent residence, otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA 5. Education: BSN noted (asterisked) 6. EMR: Epic required; charting system experience required 7. Shifts/Call: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; no on-call required; floats within service line; confirm shift in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12); contract length is firm 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; 7+ days requires manager approval, including any holiday RTO; no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of an assignment; if a shift is missed, make up as soon as possible if able 9. Returning Staff: 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service required before returning; permanent employees across BJC and/or Saint Lukes must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler; mid-contract cancellations to accept another BJC assignment are not permitted; if a contract is canceled at the contractor's discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity 10.
