- Unit Notes:OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates) - OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: - Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN - Clinician's middle initial - Requested time off - Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated - Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Department: MedSurg Women's Care Unit | RN - # of Beds: 18 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS and Current Illinois Nursing License. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Hysterectomy, mastectomy, postpartum patients (mom's only), general medical/surgical patients. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years of experience in MedSurg. Must have experience with NG placement, foley placement, blood admin, heparin and insulin drips. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin, insulin. - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: 1 Charge during shift, Housing supervisor for each shift. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1 PCT for 12 patients and 2 PCT's for more than 12 patients. - RT Equipment: CPAP. - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips?: No, patients sometimes have a heart monitor but we do not read the strips. - Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts- 7-730. Travelers will fill the shifts with the greatest need. - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period. - Holiday Requirement: Yes, will go in core staff rotation. - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No - Floating Requirements: Yes, may float to other general medical units. - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Scrubs of any color. - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 Shift- evaluate if the need for more shifts.
