- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required 2. Cases: Acute medical-surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses; adult patient population; daily census 25-30; 34-bed unit 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; must be through American Heart Association (AHA); copies must be included in submittal packet 4. License: WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission; SSN and DOB required at time of submittal 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 or 4x12 nights, weekdays and weekends; ratios 1:5-7; unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate; facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract 8. RTO: Must be included at time of submittal; unit cannot guarantee requests but will try to work with travelers 9. Returning Staff: Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler; current Vandalia Health System employees (perm, PRN, etc.) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system (includes CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) 10. Travel/Local: Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate 11. Background: Previous probationary actions on a license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Non-billable; average completion time 8 hours; completed prior to start date; requirements vary by specialty 13. Travel Experience: Not required 14. Scrubs: None provided 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — medical exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Not specified Critical: Full file due by noon Thursday prior to start date; insufficient documentation results in a 2-week start date push. Orientation held every other Monday. Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required.
