- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission (note: 18 months referenced as a general IU Health policy, but job description specifies 2 years) 2. Cases: Labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antenatal patients, triage patients 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM required; must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: In-state license required and must be in hand prior to submission; pending licenses not accepted; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license application has been submitted 5. Education: Must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner required; however, no specific charting system is required for IU Health positions per general policy 7. Shifts/Call: 8 and 10 hr shifts (40 hrs/week), 3x12 hr shifts (36 hrs/week), or 4x12 hr shifts (48 hrs/week); call every 3rd weekend; float required within MCH and to affiliate hospitals 8. RTO: Up to 5 non-holiday days may be auto-approved; anything beyond requires facility approval; candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN IU employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler; travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (effective 2/24/26); out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break prior to year mark 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals not accepted for this L&D position; effective 11/30/24, IN RNs may not work at IU Health facilities (Periop/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RNs are exempt) 11. Two supervisor references required. First-time travelers accepted. Float is 100% required of all travelers.
