- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required; 3 years preferred. Must have experience with >300 births per month. Double labor assignments are a daily occurrence. 2. Cases: Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care; scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean Births; rescue cervical cerclage; obstetrical triage; OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) — REQUIRED; Infant/Neonatal Arrest — REQUIRED. 3. Certifications: BCLS/BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and AWHONN Advanced required; C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN. All certs must be in hand. 4. License: NC or Compact license; pending OK for submittal. 5. Education: Not specified. 6. EMR: Epic required; also PYXIS and SBAR used on unit. 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights, 18:45-07:15. No call requirement. Float required as needed within women's unit (SMC High-Risk OB). Every other weekend required; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; no block scheduling. 8. RTO: Up to 7 days auto approved (no holidays). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. No RTO during first week. All RTO must be pre-approved. RTO after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO could result in cancellation and DNR. 9. Returning Staff: Former Novant/New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying. Disclosure required with hospital name and dates employed; facility approval needed. Current travel Per Diem clinicians are not eligible for travel contracts — must choose one; include status and intent in submission. 10. Travel/Local: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Pre-start modules are non-billable; time spent on modules should be margined separately from orientation hours. Acute Care: approximately 8-10 hours. Must be completed pre-start and annually. Conducted online using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted but should have experience in a large, high-volume similar setting. 14. Scrubs: Provided by facility (blue). 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions only. 16. Special Equipment: Experience with OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests) — REQUIRED. Infant/Neonatal Arrest — REQUIRED. Experience with >300 births per month — REQUIRED. Critical: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing; all testing must be completed within 48 hours. Strongly prefer RN with circulate to OR experience. References can be pending at submission. Travel pairs allowed but must be on different units and disclosed. Unit orientation is 24 hours.
