Experience: 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience within the last 7 years required; must support at least 2 years in the previous 3 years; must have completed a minimum of 1 travel assignment to be considered; first-time travelers noted as accepted in job description (confirm with AM) 2. Cases: Neuro ICU focus; patient diagnoses include brain tumor, skull base tumors, complex spine, spine tumors, ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, Parkinson's, seizures, GBS, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, cerebrovascular conditions, movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders 3. Certifications: DC RN License, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred; must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms; all certifications required at time of submittal 4. License: DC RN License required; pending DC license accepted but must have license in hand prior to start date; candidate address must match driver's license for local status determination; copy of driver's license required at submittal 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730) or straight nights; every other weekend required; float required within units of equivalent or lower acuity; ratio 1:2 8. RTO: No RTO permitted during first two weeks of assignment; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; RTO must be submitted at time of submittal and cannot be changed once profile is sent to manager; one pre-approved time off noted 9. Returning Staff: Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time 10.
