- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers acceptable 2. Cases: Medical ICU and surgical ICU patients except cardiac, occasional pediatrics; post code, post stroke, TPA, respiratory failure, dialysis; travelers do not take fresh hearts in CICU and are mostly utilized on the stepdown portion of the unit 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; PALS preferred; must be AHA or American Red Cross (implied by AHA standard); all travelers will be pass/fail tested — ICU requires EKG, Med Test, EPIC, and Critical Care exams; two attempts allowed; study guides provided 4. License: Georgia Nursing License required; must match name on Driver's License and Social Security Card; original documents only, no copies accepted 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC experience required; no training available and travelers will be tested during orientation; provide how recent EPIC usage was and total amount of experience; let AM know if RN does not have EPIC experience; EPIC training is part of orientation, not module hours 7. Shifts/Call: Float required — CPU, floats to PCU and rarely MS/Tele (max 4 patients on MS/Tele); every other weekend coverage; patient ratio 1:2 days and nights; no scheduling restrictions; limited to no OT available; call-off rule up to 12 hours per 2-week period depending on shift length 8. RTO: No pre-approved time off; RTO must be presented upfront or it will not be approved 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: No local travelers; must live outside 50 miles; travel pairs will be considered; travel experience required for Critical Care Travelers (PCU, Stepdown, ICU) 11.
