- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required; 2.5 years ICU experience preferred; minimum 2.5 years of recent adult medical/surgical critical care RN experience noted in unit details; variety in critical care experience preferred (med/surg, cardiac, neuro) 2. Cases: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheter experience required for all travelers booked to this unit; recent Float Pool, PACU, or Emergency Room experience preferred but not required 3. Certifications: AHA BLS required, ACLS required, NIHSS required; all must be AHA; BSN required 4. License: CA RN License required 5. Education: BSN required 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts; 36-hour work week (3x12-hour shifts); schedule based on operational need; shifts run 7:00-19:30 / 19:00-07:30; one schedule cycle (4 weeks) may be either day or night and may switch in another cycle depending on need; call not required 8. RTO: All RTO must be submitted at time of offer; RTO submitted after contract is signed will not be considered; RTO time to be added back to end of contract 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Must have ability to float to all UCSF facilities, departments, and campuses (Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mount Zion); RNs may float to Acute Care/Tele/TCU units with up to 3:1 assignment; may also be assigned to ED or PACU for boarded patients 11.
