Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be 2 years specifically in a neuro setting; Trauma Level I experience required 2. Cases: Ischemic strokes (post-thrombectomy, post-tPA), neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring (EVDs/bolts), neurotrauma (GSW, MVC, spinal cord injuries); candidates with Comprehensive Stroke Center experience preferred 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS required; TNCC preferred; BSN preferred; 10 hours of stroke education required (NIHSS can satisfy 3 hours if taken within the year; new or renewal ACLS provides points if taken within the year); all completed during orientation; must pass Relias EKG exam prior to start 4. License: Pending license accepted 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic; charting system experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; no on-call required; float within service line or other ICUs required; block schedule not accommodated; guaranteed hours of 3 shifts per 13-week contract 8. RTO: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract 9. Returning Staff: Not specified 10. Travel/Local: Locals not accepted; 75-mile radius rule enforced 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 10 hours of stroke education completed during orientation via Relias; Relias EKG exam must be passed 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14. Scrubs: Navy Blue 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical and religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: EVD (external ventricular drain), bolt; ICP monitoring experience preferred Critical: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required.
