- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; must be 2 years specifically in a neuro setting; Trauma Level I experience required; candidates with past experience in a Comprehensive Stroke Center preferred 2. Cases: Ischemic strokes (post-thrombectomy, post-tPA), neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring (EVDs/bolts), neurotrauma (GSW, MVC, spinal cord injuries) 3. Certifications: ACLS required (must be obtained by compliance hard document deadline), BLS required, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred, BSN preferred, 10 hours of stroke education required (NIHSS can satisfy 3 hours if taken within the year; new or renewal ACLS provides points if taken within the year); completed during orientation; certifications not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted; must be AHA or American Red Cross 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact — must match permanent residence, otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA 5. Education: BSN preferred 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12); every other weekend required; no on-call required; float within service line or other ICUs; confirm shift in submittal; contract length is firm; must pass Relias EKG exam — Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias required 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; 7 or more days requires manager approval, including any holiday RTO; no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of assignment 9. Returning Staff: 18 months tenure required with a 3-month break in service before returning; permanent employees across BJC and/or Saint Lukes must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler; BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and cancel it to accept another BJC assignment; mid-contract cancellations to book a different BJC assignment are not allowed; if a contract is canceled at the contractor's discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity 10. Travel/Local: 75-mile radius rule; no local candidates accepted; no local travelers allowed except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants 11.
