- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1.5 years ICU experience required; prefer 1.5 years MICU. If less than 2 years, Level I experience is required. Must have experience in a 20+ bed ICU. 2. Cases: Pressor support, ETT, Trachs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, wound care, sterile technique (line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, bronchoscopy, phlebotomy, esophageal manometry). Preferred: CRRT via NxStage, Swan-Ganz, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, Proning, MTP Level 1 Rapid Transfuser. Must be competent in caring for patients on CRRT via NxStage. Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias required. 3. Certifications: ACLS and BLS/BCLS required. BSN and CCRN preferred. ACLS required for Barnes-Jewish Hospital location; all RNs must obtain ACLS by compliance hard document deadline. Certifications not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted. Must pass Relias EKG exam prior to start. 4. License: MO license — submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL license — must be in hand at time of submittal. Compact license — must match permanent residence; otherwise submit for update and confirm ETA. Pending license accepted. 5. Education: BSN preferred. 6. EMR: Epic experience required. 7. Shifts/Call: Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. No on-call required. Float possible to MS areas within ICU service line or any ICU with needs. Block schedule not available. Confirm shift in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12). Contract length is firm. 8. RTO: Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; 7+ days requires manager approval, including any holiday RTO. No new RTO after submission. No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment. 9. Returning Staff: 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service required. Permanent employees across BJC and/or Saint Lukes must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. BJC does not permit contractors to cancel a signed contract to accept another BJC assignment; mid-contract cancellations for this purpose are not allowed. If a contract is canceled at the contractor's discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity. 10. Travel/Local: No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius. No local travelers allowed, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility. 11. Background: Not specified. 12. Modules: Billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr. Completed pre-start via WorkRamp and uploaded to compliance report. Required for RNs and LVS; do not differ per specialty. Must be started within 1 week of signed contract and completed 2 Fridays prior to start date to avoid delay. 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required. 14. Scrubs: Navy Blue. 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. 16. Special Equipment: MTP Level 1 Rapid Infuser. Critical: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing. Compliance deadline is 3pm CST on the Monday of the week before the initial start date. Fit testing required; travelers must have facial hair that allows for proper testing or will be expected to shave — no exceptions. Screen candidate if missing any required skills.
