- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required; first-time travelers must have minimum 2 years ICU experience from a 400-bed or larger facility 2. Cases: ICU Float Pool covering Neuro (8SCCT), Respiratory failure/Vent support (7SCCT), Acute MI with complications (6SCCT/4SCCT), GU/GI bleeds/Shocks/Massive Transfusion (5SCCT), Transplant float (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Heart/Lung); may also float to Overflow PACU, MS/Tele/PCU, Stepdown; Transplant experience preferred; EVD experience preferred; CRRT preferred; MICU candidates may be screened if strong Cardiac, Neuro, and Trauma experience 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred; Relias EKG Exam required prior to start; EKG Exam also administered on first day of orientation — must pass to move forward with contract; all certifications must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: CA RN License required; must be active at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic required 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift 1900-0730; 36 or 48-hour weeks available; weekend coverage required — at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; floating required — this is a float position (ICU, MS/Tele, PCU, Overflow units); no scheduling requests can be accommodated 8. Special Equipment: PA Line (Swan Ganz) experience required — hard stop; do not submit candidates without this experience; will be assessed during phone interview and additional checklist; candidates must be rated 3-4 on additional Swan Ganz skills checklist and must have performed within the last 6 months; arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, central line care, ICP monitoring, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, CRRT preferred Critical: Swan Ganz is a hard stop — do not screen candidates who do not meet this requirement.
