Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience required; Surgical ICU / Trauma ICU / Burn ICU / Transplant ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience required 2. Cases: Trauma, Transplant, Burn, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Colorectal Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Overflow Medical/Neuro ICU patients 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; copies should be in hand at submission 4. License: Ohio RN license required; valid compact or state license must be in hand at time of submission; ALL candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as contract is signed — candidates outside Ohio within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently upon receipt 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis / Accudose / Omnicell medication systems 7. Shifts/Call: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; every other weekend required; 36 hours/week; floating required to different units within the OSU organization as needed; patient ratio is 2:1 days, nights, and weekends 8. RTO: Must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidate vacation time immediately after booking may cause a push due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location; include former manager name during submission 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate; please only submit to one location 11. Background: Not specified 12. Pre-Start Modules: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions; travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only; COVID-19 Vaccine not required 16. Special Equipment: Ventilators, NxtStage CRRT, IV pumps, TF pumps, wound vacs, EVD monitoring, ICP monitoring, FloTrac; invasive monitoring required Critical: 2 professional references required — at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted. Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon contract signing — no exceptions to the Tuesday prior to start compliance deadline.
