- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience required; Surgical ICU / Trauma ICU / Burn ICU / Transplant ICU experience preferred 2. Cases: Trauma, Transplant, Burn, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Colorectal Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Overflow Medical/Neuro ICU patients 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; copies required at submission 4. License: Ohio RN license required; valid compact or state license must be in hand at time of submission; Ohio fingerprinting must be completed as soon as contract is signed 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic preferred; Pyxis / Accudose / Omnicell for medication systems 7. Shifts/Call: Day shift; every Saturday and Sunday day shift plus 1 additional day per week; 36 hours/week; floating required to different units within the OSU organization as needed; patient ratio 2:1 8. RTO: Must be submitted with submission and built into contract; screen candidates for vacation time immediately after booking due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after being away from facility for 6 months or more; current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; travel experience not required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: Ventilators, NxtStage CRRT, IV pumps, TF pumps, wound vacs, EVD monitoring, ICP monitoring, FloTrac, invasive monitoring Critical: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions. Submit to one location only; AM team will find the best fit. Two professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
