Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required 2. Cases: Float to all ICUs including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, MICU x2, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU; Transplants (Kidney, Liver, Lung, Heart); required skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, and extensive critical care competencies 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross (per standard policy) 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic proficiency required 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend Day shifts; minimum every other weekend required; float required to different units within OSU organization as needed; 1 weekday shift included 8. RTO: Must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidate vacation time immediately after booking may cause push due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current OSU employees ineligible as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location; former manager name should be noted 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required; must be completed as soon as contract is signed; candidates outside Ohio must drive to a fingerprinting location or will be mailed a packet to complete urgently; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start, no exceptions; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk push/cancel 12. Modules: Orientation is 36 hours 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred; marked as required in system 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required — Medical Exemptions Only 16. Special Equipment: NIHSS (hardstop), temporary pacer, EVD, CT, ventilator Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon signing. Please only submit to one location. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted. RTO must be built into contract at time of submission.
