- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required 2. Cases: Cardiac Medical ICU; ACS, Acute MI, Cardiogenic Shock, post interventional cardiac procedure patients, decompensating heart failure, TAVR; secondary diagnoses include GI bleed, chronic or acute renal failure, exacerbation of airway disease, diabetes mellitus, pneumonia, and r/o embolus 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; AHA certifications only 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Night shift; every other weekend required; float to different units within the OSU organization as needed; no on-call; 36 orientation hours 8. RTO: Must be submitted with submission and built into contract; one pre-approved time off 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees ineligible to be hired as traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required; must be completed as soon as contract is signed; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start with no exceptions; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: IABP, Impella, activated clotting times, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, ventilators, EKOS Critical: Two professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted. Candidates must be aware of the urgency of the Ohio fingerprinting process. Screen for candidate vacation time immediately after booking as it may cause delays due to fingerprinting.
