- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted 2. Cases: Wide variety including complex ED admission diagnoses; border role with fast-paced, high-volume ER, MS/T, and IMC patient care; adults and geriatrics; minimum 10 boarders up to 40 daily 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required; BLS/ACLS must be AHA ONLY; CPI must be Calm Every Storm online version (only acceptable online vendor) 4. License: Active MD or Compact RN License required at time of submission 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12 Nights (19:30-08:00); every other weekend required; holidays required as they fall; floating required between ED borders, extenders to MS/T, IMC units within specialty and scope; pre-scheduled call shifts not required; ratio 1:6 8. RTO: No pre-approved time off; max 7 days can be requested; if more than 4 consecutive days, an additional week must be added to the back end on new contracts; schedule restrictions cannot be requested or guaranteed 9. Returning Staff: Return travelers must be away at least 6 months from the system after assignment completion; former staff must be gone 12 months before returning as a traveler; most locations allow one contract and one extension, then a 6-month break before returning to that facility/unit 10. Travel/Local: Locals under 50 miles not accepted unless job specifically states locals accepted; permanent address must be 50+ miles from hospital address 11. Background: Not specified 12.
