- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required; CVOR experience required, Pedi CVOR preferred for all Pedi cardiac cases 2. Cases: Congenital hearts and other cardiac surgeries (Arterial switch operation, ASD/VSD repair, Coarctation of the aorta repair, ECMO insertion/decannulation, Epstein's Anomaly repair, Fontan procedure, Norwood procedure, PDA ligation, Tetralogy of Fallot Repair, Transposition of the Great Arteries repair, Valve Repair/Replacement, Ventricular Assist Device Implant); will also care for general OR patients 3. Certifications: BLS and PALS required 4. License: CA RN license required and must be in hand at submission; no pending or temp licenses accepted 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Not specified 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, Days 0630-1900; call required 1-2 weekends per month; 72 hours plus 8 days per month (12-24 hrs/day) depending on schedule; float to Main OR required; travelers float first 8. RTO: Maximum of 10 days RTO; none within the first week of the assignment 9. Returning Staff: Must be separated for 1 year before applying to travel positions; any clinician who is a DNR from Rady's will not be considered for CHOC; return CHOC travelers cancelled from Rady's require further review by CHOC leadership 10.
