Qualifications:

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 18 months minimum with exceptions per unit 2. Cases: Scrubbing CV cases required; Core 5 with 3/4 CV cases; heart and lung transplant experience required 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: Must have IN, compact, or IN temp license in hand prior to start 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU Health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Approximately 100 hours call per 6 weeks; 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning) 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: Any PERM or PRN employee must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated break after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local and receive $15 off bill rate; accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, and IU Clinics positions 11. Background: Policy must be noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Required; first timers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: ECMO; heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections Critical: Floating 100% required to other OR specialties or affiliate hospitals. Level I Trauma experience preferred.
