- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred 2. Cases: Cardiovascular ICU patients including CABG, valve repair, TAVR, structural repairs, heart transplant, lung transplant, VAD implantation, ECMO, aortic repairs, esophageal repairs; secondary diagnoses include low cardiac output syndrome, stroke, acute respiratory distress/failure, renal impairment/failure, sepsis, GI bleed, heart failure, unstable dysrhythmias, and post procedure patients 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; skills required include IV start, telemetry, vents, Swan-Ganz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, PA lines 4. License: Valid compact or state RN license required in hand at time of submission 5. Education: Must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 36 hours, day/night or night rotating; weekdays and some weekends; rotating holidays; up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (minimum 4 required); Saturday/Sunday for dayshift, Friday/Saturday for nightshift; float required within units of equivalent or lower acuity, no more than once every 4 weeks; patient ratio 1:1-2 8. RTO: RTO required at time of submission and must be built into contract; one pre-approved time off; rotating holidays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility; current OSU employees ineligible for traveler assignment at any OSU hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Ohio fingerprinting required; must be completed as soon as contract is signed; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start, no exceptions; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently; unresponsive or uncooperative candidates are at risk of push/cancel; screen for vacation time immediately after booking due to fingerprinting delay risk 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Previous travel experience preferred 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine: Required — medical exemptions only; COVID-19 vaccine not required 16. Special Equipment: Total Artificial Heart, Ventricular Assist Devices, ECMO, CRRT, Hemodynamic monitoring/Swan-Ganz catheter (hard stop), IABP, Impella, ventilators, inhaled Epoprostenol, temporary pacemakers (hard stop), chest tubes (hard stop), mass transfusion of blood products Critical: Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon signing contract. Compliance deadline is Tuesday prior to start — no exceptions. Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted.
