- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: Contrast media preparation/administration, radiation safety; extensive CT skill set including trauma, vascular, cardiac, neuro, pediatric, and musculoskeletal studies 3. Certifications: BLS, ARRT(R), ARRT(CT) required; must be in hand at time of submission 4. License: Virginia state license required; active license accepted; Virginia will grant emergency authorization while permanent VA license processes 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience required; Siemens experience required 7. Shifts/Call: 3x13s, 6p-7a, consecutive days starting Monday or Tuesday; shift time may vary +/- 2 hours based on unit need; on-call rotation with staff required 8. RTO: All RTO must be submitted upfront with the submittal; travelers must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment; winter holidays require 2 holidays worked (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, NYE/New Year's) 9. Returning Staff: Previous employees (per diem and permanent) must be gone a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler; effective July 1, 2025, travelers cannot return after working 365 days on assignment regardless of separation period; exceptions reviewed case by case by Carilion leadership; travelers ending prior to July 1st are grandfathered under the previous policy (six-month break, then eligible for another full year) 10. Travel/Local: Candidates residing within 100 miles are considered local and not accepted; distance calculated from address on Driver's License only; no additional proof of residency accepted; first-time travelers not accepted 11.
