- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required (18 months exp. required per general policy) 2. Cases: Blood Bank experience; specimen processing, ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, Antibody Typing, Crossmatch procedures, Electronic Crossmatch, Indirect Coombs Test 3. Certifications: ASCP-MLS or ACP-BB required; ASCP-BB and ASCP-MLS both required (facility needs both certs) 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted; IN RNs not allowed (with specified exceptions) 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Evening Shift (3:00pm-11:30p) or Night Shift (11pm-07:30am) with flexible start times for 10-hour shifts; every other weekend required with 1 holiday 8. RTO: Can auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy with required breaks based on residency 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; accepted for Surgical Services, Allied positions, IU Clinics at lower rate; not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions 11. Background: Policy noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15.
