- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: At least 1 year required 2. Cases: Chemistry, Immunochemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Manual Testing, Rapid Covid, Rapid Influenza, Manual Body Fluid and CSF cell counts and differentials, Transfusion Services, and Central Processing 3. Certifications: ASCP MLT or MLS; AMT Certification also accepted; must be obtained within one year from date of hire if not already held 4. License: Ohio fingerprinting required immediately upon signing contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; those at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently 5. Education: Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology minimum; Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biological science with MT certification per position summary; must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 6. EMR: Epic required; recent experience and proficiency required 7. Shifts/Call: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts, 2030-0700; one traveler position works every weekend on third shift, three 12-hour shifts 8. RTO: One pre-approved time off allowed; RTO must be submitted with submission and built into contract; candidates with vacation time immediately after booking should be screened as this may cause a push due to fingerprinting delays 9. Returning Staff: Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more; current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location 10. Travel/Local: Locals accepted at the same rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Pre-start Module Requirements: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start; no exceptions 13. Travel Experience: Preferred 14. Scrubs: Not specified 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required; medical exemptions only 16.
