Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required for submission 2. Cases: MS/Tele cases, PCU level patients, any adult medical/surgical diagnoses, CVA, ortho trauma, traumatic brain injury 3. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred; must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift, 36 hours only, no call required; every other weekend required 8. RTO: 7 days maximum; auto-approved if 7 days or less and not on holidays; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; facility rehire approval needed 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate; travel experience required 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: Non-billable; 8-10 hours for acute care roles; completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Required 14. Scrubs: Navy 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Cardiac monitors, IV pumps, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours of signing. Float requirement to ED and MedSurg areas. Patient ratios 1:6-1:7 for MS/Tele, 1:3-1:4 for PCU patients. Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week.
