Requirements

- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Medical and post surgical patients; remote telemetry monitoring 3. Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS and NIH preferred; NIHSS required 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: Epic experience preferred; unit accepts first-time travelers only if they have Epic experience 7. Shifts/Call: 12-hour nights; 1:6-7 patient ratios; every other weekend requirement; may float to other units 8. RTO: 7 days maximum; auto-approved if 7 days or less and not on holidays; no RTO during first week; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; RTO after booking not allowed 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before applying as traveler; must disclose previous employment 10. Travel/Local: Candidates under 50 miles offered lower local rate 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles; non-billable; completed pre-start via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes 13. Travel Experience: Unit accepts first-time travelers only if they have Epic experience 14. Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or combination of navy/white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Pyxis, EPIS systems Critical: Must complete lab work within 48 hours after signing.
