- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: Minimum 2 years required; 18 months experience required with some unit exceptions 2. Cases: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required; Medical PCU with almost ICU level acuity, multiple cardiac drips, multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary cases 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH required; must be from accredited university (ACEN or CCNE) 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted; IN RN licenses not allowed (except Periop/OR, Allied, Ambulatory positions) 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner experience preferred; no specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Work every other weekend; may need consecutive weekends based on operational needs; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO; anything more requires facility approval 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated breaks after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local and not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions; surgical services, allied, and clinic positions accept locals at lower rate 11. Background: Must note background policy prior to submission for approval 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16.
