- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 18 months minimum per general policy 2. Cases: Scrubbing CV cases required; Core 5 procedures with 3/4 CV experience; heart and lung transplants, endovascular procedures preferred 3. Certifications: BLS required 4. License: IN, compact, or IN temp license must be in hand prior to start; pending licenses accepted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU Health positions 7. Shifts/Call: Approximately 100 hours/6 weeks; 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning); 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts available 8. RTO: Must work 2/3 major holidays; auto-approval for 5 non-holiday days or less 9. Returning Staff: PERM or PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local at $15 lower bill rate; out-of-state residents need 3-month break, in-state need 6-month break for reset 11. Background: Must note background policy prior to submission for approval 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Required; first timers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required - medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: ECMO, equipment for heart & lung transplants, aortic dissections Critical: Float required to other OR specialties. 2 supervisor references required. Level I Trauma experience preferred. Charge pay available with $3.00 bill rate bump. 40 hours orientation. Must provide 2-3 days interview availability.
