- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 1 year required 2. Cases: Cardiac and stroke patients 3. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement competency 4. License: NY license required in hand to submit 5. Education: Must alert account manager if traveler has foreign education requiring verification 6. EMR: Epic experience is a hard requirement 7. Shifts/Call: No on-call required; EOW weekends; float required to MS, ICU, ED 8. RTO: Cannot exceed 10 days; no holiday RTO; maximum 7 days preferred 9. Returning Staff: 1 year return staff policy 10. Travel/Local: 75-mile radius requirement; no locals accepted 11. Background: Reviewed on case-by-case basis 12. Modules: Pre-start modules billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours; excess over 5 hours non-billable 13. Travel Experience: First-timers accepted 14. Scrubs: Any combination of navy and white 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Unknown 16. Special Equipment: Hoyer lifts Patient ratios: Day/Eve 5:1 (stretch 6-7), Night 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10). Special requirements include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response team use, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions. 20-bed unit with 4-hour orientation.
