- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required; Children's Hospital experience within last 3 years required; 18 months experience minimum (general facility requirement) 2. Cases: Must have L&D experience (primary placement), NICU experience required, PICU experience required, open to Level 1 adult facility experience 3. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP (required for L&D placement), PALS preferred; licenses and certifications must be in hand to submit 4. License: Indiana State License required; must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses obtainable once permanent license applications submitted 5. Education: Must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA; University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner preferred; no specific charting required for IU health positions 7. Shifts/Call: 3x12s, every other weekend required; floating 100% required; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 8. RTO: Can auto-approve 5 days of non-holiday RTO or less; anything more requires facility approval 9. Returning Staff: Any permanent or PRN employee must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires designated break after 12 months employment 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; locals accepted for surgical services, allied positions, and IU clinics at lower rate; locals not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, ER positions 11. Background: Policy noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: First time travelers accepted 14. Scrubs: Not mentioned 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required with medical/religious exemptions only 16. Special Equipment: Children's hospital experience required; will float between NICU and Peds Acute Care Critical: Written confirmation required that traveler is comfortable with every other weekend requirement. Will be assigned NICU, PICU, or Peds home unit. Two supervisor references required.
