- Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years minimum required 2. Cases: Medical-surgical patients with oncology history; chemotherapy/biotherapy administration; DKA, AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, malignant neoplasms 3. Certifications: BLS required; Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) required; CPI preferred; OCN preferred; Must pass EKG testing prior to start 4. License: NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start 5. Education: Not specified 6. EMR: EPIC, PYXIS systems; Epic most common 7. Shifts/Call: Night shift; call required if called off on pre-scheduled shift; every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 8. RTO: 7 days or less auto-approved if not on holiday; more requires facility approval; no RTO first week due to orientation; RTO after booking not allowed 9. Returning Staff: Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; facility rehire approval needed; must disclose previous employment 10. Travel/Local: Under 50 miles offered lower local rate; will accept first-time travelers 11. Background: Not specified 12. Modules: 8-10 hours for acute care roles; non-billable; must be completed pre-start and annually via online learning, Zoom, webinar, in-person classes 13.
